BRP ROAD PATCH CASE STUDIES

  • Reduced winter maintenance – Tauranga City Council

BRP Road Patch has significantly reduced the time and resources required to fix potholes across the Tauranga City Council network. This case study profiles how BRP Road Patch has been adopted as a holding strategy to manage deteriorating pavements as well as a permanent repair on chipseal surfaces where there is a strong pavement surface.

  • Holding repairs, remediating a failing bridge pavement – Taupō District Council

BRP Road Patch is used in two profiled projects to provide a holding repair on a local road, and to remediate a cracking bridge deck, with BRP Road Patch used in both projects as an interim pavement repair solution. This case study profiles repairs to a heaved section of Aciacia Bay Road (a low volume road) and an overlay on a high-volume arterial access route due to extensive pavement fractures on the Wairakei Drive Control Gates bridge deck.

  • Repairing wearing course, trial for containment repairs at exit turning point – Taupō District Council

BRP Road Patch has been used in two high volume sites due to heavy traffic loadings and turning arcs at a major exit.  This case study profiles how BRP Road Patch was used as a substitute for a dig out on Poihipi Road and as a trial for containment repairs at a major exit point from the “Z” Service Station Titiraupenga Street, Taupō.

  • Ending continuous pothole repairs - West Harbour Auckland

BRP Road Patch is helping to end the ‘never ending’ cycle of pothole repairs on arterial roads that have degraded due to extensive area wide development in parts of the North Shore and West Harbour. It includes details of the BRP Road Patch Maintenance Kit that is used by the patrols.

  • Strengthening a diversion route - New Plymouth

BRP Road Patch has increased pavement resilience and proved an effective mitigation in areas with degrading pavement, despite the volume of traffic and limited speed reductions. This case study profiles two projects undertaken in the New Plymouth District Council area, one a State Highway diversion through a satellite town with repairs undertaken prior and another holding a failed trench reinstatement.

  • Preventing slippage on ramps - Hurunui District Council

This case study profiles how BRP Road Patch was used to cover test patches taken from sections of SH 1 Turangi to Waiouru, where water penetration running up from a 300mm deep cement stablilised pavement was causing significant failures.

  • Cyclone repairs - Transport Rebuild East Coast

BRP Road Patch has helped the East Coast team manage pavement repairs due to water ingress, with 50-60% more potholes occurring due to cyclones and heavy rain. This case study profiles how BRP Road Patch has provided mitigation against a weakened pavement due to water ingress across State Highways’ 2 and 35.
