A custom SteelGuard XL mix design and specialist machinery help resurface a busy intersecting runway in Mumbai India.

The Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) is one of the busiest in India having over 950 flight movements each day with a single runway in operation.

The runway was exhibiting signs of aging with raveling, creating issues with FOD. SteelGuard XL was chosen as the desired solution for the runway and shoulders. Having a single use intersecting runway added to the complexity of the project with a constrained time schedule for maintenance. RaynGuard developed a custom mix design to assist dry times and was best suited to the pavement surface and other project requirements.

The video shows how the resurfacing complexity was managed with a RaynMaker sprayer used for long runs and the Pavement Saver for tighter areas, particularly intersecting sections.
